21st. I guess that for me, this day will, for a long time, be remembered. And
coming from me, it's actually a big thing: I have the memory span of a goldfish...
For a few weeks we had been planned a gathering for the people of Advent Children's
forum. Many from Quebec and Ontario and a few from the United States would gather
to see the 20 minute presentation of Advent children, at the FCMM in Montreal, Quebec.
Everything went perfectly, everyone who said they would come were proven trustworthy
and this began that evening.
At 6pm, the 21st, after 2 hours of a bus and subway ride, I arrived at the ex-Centris.
Everyone knew that I would be there early and we would meet up. I waited for a few
minutes and saw I forgot to bring a notepad. I went to get one and on my way back,
I met with Matoya. First one to have arrived from our group. We went inside and
put a few flyers for the website on the tables, took pictures around the place and
of the poster that was on the wall. It was so tiny compared to all the others. If
only they knew how this movie would probably beat anything presented there, even
if it was only 20 minutes. At least, to my opinion.
At 7, the line up was already started. Another group of friends, from another
board, arrived. They decided to go inside and wait in line. Soon after, came another
member of ACF: Son-of-Seto. Easy to recognize with his red ribbon. This was our
symbol. His friend went in line, while Seto talked with us, waiting for the others.
After a while, we decided that it was enough. All 4 (Matoya was with her father.
At last someone who has a dad as insane as mine) left and passed in front of everyone
to reach Son-Of-Seto's friend, making the security in the theater, panic because
we are messing around their lines. But we make our point and they went away. We
tried to take pictures of the inside of the theater again, but we were stopped as
soon as we lift our camera. However, it took more than that to stop Son-of-Seto
and I apparently. We took a few more pictures as soon as they turned around and
went on as if nothing happened. (I am sorry. I never listened to my parents, why
listen to strangers?)
A few times, I went back and forth in the line, searching for peoples of our
group who arrived too late. After finding a few more, I tried to get them closer
in the line so we could all sit together.
It may have worked once, but not twice. But at least we could reserve them seats.
I warned everyone and when at last , they opened the doors, we chose our seats,
throwing jackets on those that were reserved. Some of us came in prepared others
came in just to see the movie and "brag" about it later.
After some talk from someone at the ex-Centris, we were introduced to what will
probably be the closest we will ever get to Square-Enix. Two representatives of
the company were there and explained to us that this movie was still in progress.
The final product should run from about 70-80 minutes long. We warmly applauded
them and they all left us to the main attraction.
As the lights dimmed, everyone shut up, a few probably holding their breath.
The words Square-Enix appeared on the screen, opening of what would be 20 minutes
of pure ecstasy.
